APM Terminals Callao donates classroom supplies to local schools

Over 200 children living in Callao will benefit from this project

Within the scope of its Social Responsibility Program, APM Terminals Callao highlights its commitment to support education in local communities through donating furniture to schools and providing scholarships to youth.

APM Terminals Callao, a multi-purpose terminal in Peru, donated desks and chairs for Santa Ana and César de los Rios schools. In addition to that, the company donated furniture for the psychomotricity classrooms for both schools. As a result, over 200 children will benefit from this activity, including the children with learning disabilities, who will have an improved environment to advance their education.

“We are part of the Callao community, and we are interested not only in the port’s success but also in the development of the children and the local community”, said Javier Lancha, General Manager of APM Terminals Callao.

The Bishop of Callao Monsignor José Luis Del Palacio y Pérez-Mendel together with the students of both schools and APM Terminals Callao executive team attended the donation ceremony. Javier Lancha, General Manager of APM Terminals Callao, Ernesto Montagne, Legal and Corporate Affairs Manager, and Joel Ganoza, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager participated in the event.

As part of its commitment to enhance the development of the Callao community, APM Terminals Callao manages an annual Educational Scholarship Program which granted three scholarships for elementary school and two for superior studies, as well as up to 100 scholarships for technical studies in 2018.
