Strengthened sales team at APM Terminals - Emil Seferaj takes over as customer contact for the railway
The year 2025 started with a strong volume increase for the railways, and at APM Terminals we're continuing to develop our railway business. As part of this, we're strengthening the team with Emil Seferaj, who will take over as the daily contact for our railway customers.
Emil Seferaj has 10 years of experience at the terminal and most recently worked as a railway planner. With his operational background, he can see great potential in helping customers to find holistic solutions.
'I look forward to building on what we've created, but also to developing our role in the rail network', he says. 'I've already had a good dialogue with the train operators and will now focus on deepening our understanding of our customers’ needs and developing collaborations across the entire transport chain'.
'My ambition is to use my experience to find creative solutions that can help our customers all the way from start to finish'.
Svante Altås is continuing to drive growth on the railways
After many years of dedicated work and close contact with our railway customers, Svante Altås continues to bring the Nordic region closer to the rest of the world by rail.
'Over the years, we've built up a great deal of trust among our customers, and I'm convinced that Emil will manage this in the best possible way. Even though we're now exchanging our customer responsibilities, I'll remain in the organisation and contribute toward our continued success on the railways', he says.
What can customers look forward to in 2025?
Volumes will continue to increase, while ongoing work on the Western main line will create challenges for rail traffic.
'To support our customers, we've extended availability with more time for handling. The occupancy rate of trains increased by 13% during the quarter, which creates more efficient handling', says Emil Seferaj.
During the year, APM Terminals carried out several efficiency-enhancing initiatives. Among other things, brake testing will be offered directly at the terminal, which is expected to significantly reduce handling times.
