OOCL demurrage collection at the Ports of New York and New Jersey

For shipments with a Bill of Lading Rate Date on or after May 12th, 2024, OOCL will charge carrier demurrage separately from terminal storage, which will be collected directly by the marine terminals.

To submit payment for OOCL’s demurrage fees, please continue to utilize our online portal—Real Time Release. Port storage charges should be paid directly to the associated marine terminal utilizing their online payment portal(s). More information on the new demurrage tariff can be found below:

SECTION 2: C. Demurrage Charges

3) For ports in New York, NY, cargo interest is required to settle payment of terminal storage charge assessed by the local terminal directly with the terminal operator in addition to the separate demurrage charge assessed by Carrier. Carrier, at its sole option, may also accept requests from the cargo interest to advance payment of the terminal storage charge to the terminal operator on behalf of the cargo interest subject to the general administration fee set forth in this tariff.
