Youth In Movement 2019 Soccer Tournament Ends

On June 8, the fourth edition of the "Juventud en Movimiento 2019" (Youth in Movement) tournament ended, in which the champion team turned out to be Cecyte 05, who batteld against Enrique Ramírez High School in the final.

The tournament, which took place from June 4 to 8 of this year, was sponsored by APM Terminals and in this edition, 12 teams from local high schools participated.
The tournament is an initiative of APM Terminals with the support and coordination of companies such as Arcelor Mittal, Kansas City Southern Mexico and Club Monarcas.

This year, third place was taken by Cecytem Guacamayas school, who failed to make it to the final despite their great efforts on the field. All participating schools had impressive results performing 100 percent in this lightning tournament.

At the end of the championship, the directors of APM Terminals, Arcelor Mittal, Ports Captaincy, Club Cocodrilos, Tenth Naval Military Zone and the Port Authority of Lázaro Cárdenas, closed the event, with Sandra Barreda, Manager of Corporate Affairs, who had the closing words to all the participants and attendees at the award ceremony.

"The achievement of the Youth in Movement tournament for the fourth consecutive year represents a commitment from APM Terminals year after year and another great effort from young people in the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas: you are the future of this city and through these events we want to motivate you to move forward, to overcome and to succeed,"said Sandra Barreda.

APM Terminals Lázaro Cárdenas and participating companies such as Kansas City Southern, Arcelor Mittal and Club Monarcas, join together to promote sports and well-being among high school students, as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility Plan that these companies implement in the communities of Michoacanas.

"Over the years, this tournament has beccome an event of vital importance to the community and the region; this fourth edition was anticipated with real interest by the young participants. For APM Terminals, the tournament represents an important tool to bring different communities closer to each, and encourage the practice of sport and well-being, "said Sandra Barreda, from APM Terminals.

Through the participation of these 12 educational institutions, more than 230 young students of upper secondary level are involved, which represents a local impact of more than 10,000 inhabitants from the communities around Lázaro Cárdenas.
