APM Terminals Lázaro Cárdenas donates computer equipment

APM Terminals Lázaro Cárdenas donated computer equipment to the Center for Marine Technology Studies (CETMAR) this week. The donation was in commemoration of the terminals first Million Containers, and in support of the company's Social Responsibility activities.

CETMAR students were winners of the third edition of the “Youth in Movement” Tournament, sponsored by APM Terminals as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program. The programme recognises the winning institution with a strategic donation to help improve educational facilities at the school.

The 40 computers went to CETMAR’s computer lab. The institution has around 1,300 students, as well as a centre for around 45 students with visual, motor, intellectual and auditory disabilities. Located in Lázaro Cárdenas, CETMAR offers, among other things, technical studies in naval mechanics, aquaculture in maritime waters, refrigeration and air conditioning and logistics.

“At APM Terminals, we are aware of the importance of linking with educational institutions in Mexico. This type of donation reaffirms the commitment that APM Terminals makes to its community by promoting, healthy competition and rewarding students who, for their performance, stood out in the “Youth in Movements” tournament” said José Rueda Salinas, CEO of APM Terminals Lázaro Cárdenas.
