Fumigation

APM Terminals Barcelona can authorise a third part of your choice to carry out phosphine fumigation and ventiliation for your containers within our terminal. This saves on lead time and transportation costs by eliminating the need for containers to be moved to external facilities and back. This services complies with the national and international legislation with high quality and safety standards.

Notes about the fumigation process

  • Fumigation products are not included and must be provided by the requestor.
  • Third party fumigation providers must be authorised to enter the the terminal. This will be coordinated by our Warehouse Department. 
  • The fumigation product remains in the container for around 4 to 5 days. After this the container is ventilated for  around 4 to 6 hours.
