APM Terminals Aarhus Introduces Fully Automated Gate for Enhanced Efficiency and Safety

APM Terminals Aarhus is soon all set with the implementation of a fully automated gate system. This cutting-edge technology promises significant benefits to customers, including improved safety, enhanced data quality, and the potential for future smart solutions. 

The last milestone of fully gate automation at APM Terminals Aarhus is soon achieved. As of end august, trucking companies and truck drivers will pre-advise their truck visit with a user-friendly app and web application/digital ticket receipt website that have been designed to make gate-in as smooth and simple as possible. Cameras in the gate lanes will automatically verify data against the booking information as the truck passes through the gate. This is done using a technology called Optical Character Recognition (OCR). OCR serves as the "digital eyes" of the gate.  

“We constantly strive to offer the most efficient operation possible. With the automated gate, there will be a lot more focus on getting data right before entering the terminal.
