APM Terminals Aarhus now runs on 100 % renewable electricity

A major milestone in our commitment to offer fossil-free container handling is reached. Now, APM Terminals Aarhus runs on 100 percent renewable electricity.

The target was clear. By the end of 2024 was 80 percent of all electricity consumed in the container handling, and in our facilities at APM Terminals Aarhus should originate from renewable energy. The target is now reached – by far.

”In collaboration with our new supplier, we have taken the step to exclusively purchase 100% green electricity. This is a very important milestone in our decarbonization plan, says Mette Linneman Nielsen, Head of HSSE at APM Terminals Nordic and continues:

“As the largest container terminal in Denmark, we have a great responsibility to reduce the climate footprint and I am proud to say that we now contribute to a more environmentally friendly supply chain for our customers”.
