Container Terminal
APM Terminals Gijón is located in the port of Gijón on Spain’s Northern Coast. It offers direct connections to the Atlantic European coast and Canary Islands. With an annual container capacity of 200,000 TEUs, the terminal serves Norther Spain via excellent road and rail connectivity.
The Gijón Container Terminal started operations in 2001. APM Terminals acquired the terminal in 2016 as part of the acquisition of Spanish-based Grup Maritim TCB’s port and rail interests. In recent years, APM Terminals Gijón, has expanded to meet increased volume requirement in the region. Customer focus and terminal optimization have resulted in new services for customers, investment in the latest equipment and terminal infrastructure, and extended gate opening hours.
