APM Terminals Buenos Aries inaugurates the first automatic and continuous scanner in Argentina

APM Terminals Buenos Aires, which operates the T4 Container Terminal in the Port of Buenos Aires, has installed the first and only scanner in Argentina capable of processing 140 containers per hour.

Operating 24 hours a day, the new model FS6000 scanner allows the inspection of trucks at an average speed of 10Km/h. This will reduce truck waiting times considerably and improved traffic flows will reduce land freight costs for customers.

“We are very proud to be pioneers in the inclusion of this state-of-the-art technology in a terminal in Argentina,” says Silvia Iglesias, Managing Director of APM Terminals Buenos Aires. “The arrival of the new scanner will allow us to provide faster, safer and more efficient operations, and of course, will provide higher levels of security when for authorities reviewing various types of merchandise.”
