Disconnecting Reefers Based on Time Slots – Efficiency in Practice

In our ongoing mission to make your logistics processes more efficient and faster, we have recently implemented a significant improvement: disconnecting reefers based on time slots. This project focuses on optimizing the handling of reefer containers, significantly reducing long wait times for drivers.

Previously, drivers had to wait for a staff member to manually disconnect the reefer, which led to unnecessary delays and frustration for both the driver and the carriers who rely on quick turnaround times. With the new system, we can begin disconnecting the reefer in advance, thanks to pre-notification, even before the driver arrives.

How does this work in practice? As soon as a driver arrives to collect a reefer container and registers at the 'gate-in,' our team receives a notification. This way, we know exactly which containers will be picked up in the coming hours. These are preemptively disconnected, so the driver does not have to wait. If the reefer is not collected within four hours, our staff automatically receives a reminder to reconnect the container, unless it involves a reefer with sensitive cargo.

This improvement is not only good news for our drivers but for your entire supply chain. Less waiting time means faster throughput, more efficiency, and better reliability.
