Barge loading process change: Container door direction

Dear Customer,

The handling of your barges is high on the priority list. Together, we are continuously on the move to make the handling process even safer, faster and more reliable. Recently, work had been done on improving the barge loading process.

This improvement ensures that the operational process runs better, partly because the automated vehicles do not have to turn in the automated area. This results in a faster handling of the barges. As of Monday 10 October, containers will be loaded on board with a random door direction at APM Terminals Maasvlakte II.

If it is necessary for you to load containers with a specific door direction, please clearly indicate this in the stowage plan. Our planners will ensure that these containers are loaded on board with the desired door direction.
