Empty Repositioning by Rail
APM Terminals Mumbai's new Empty Container Repositioning by Rail service enables shipping lines and trade to re-position their empty inventory by rail between our terminal and an ICD/CFS (and vica versa) and between ICD/CFS and ICD/CFS (via the terminal). Empty containers received at the terminal can then be easily distributed to various yards in the vicinity.
Repositioning empty containers by rail is safer, faster, and a more economical and environment friendly way of moving containers. At the same time it also helps remove congestion from roads, reduces turnaround time for empty boxes and provides customers with increased visibility of empty container inventory to help them plan their supply chain.
