Truck update
APM Terminals Maasvlakte II is continuously working on improving the truck handling to make our truck handling faster and smoother.
Adjustments to truck handling
Analysis has shown that too much damage is caused to the trucks, chassis, or containers during stacking. From there, several measures have been taken to reduce the chance of damage and to guarantee safety.
For instance, the automatic set down of the container on the chassis by the stacking crane has been reduced by 20%. As a second adjustment, the trucks with a special chassis (lifting cylinder, crane, or other special obstacles) are now handled manually.
We implemented these two adjustments a few months ago. We have seen a reduction in damage of about 80%. We will continue to look at what we can improve to have even less damage cases. We would like to hear from you if you have any ideas about this. Please feel free to contact Judith Versteeg. (judith.versteeg@apmterminals.com).
