APM Terminals Moín hosts free health fair for truckers

APM Terminals Moín reaffirmed its commitment to the safety and well-being of the truck drivers that enter the Moín Container Terminal (TCM). To that end, the terminal hosted a free health fair especially for port users who require a medical examination to help determine their current health status.

This initiative provided the opportunity for truckers to enter TCM and obtain medical attention, including medical check-ups and recommendations to improve their health and lead a healthier lifestyle.

The transporters who accessed TCM on Thursday, February 20, had the opportunity to get a check-up – free of charge. These included a check of vital signs, weight, height and blood sugar levels to detect possible health risks such as hypertension, diabetes and obesity. If necessary, medical referrals were made.

The health checkups were conducted by APM Terminals Moín's health team, in coordination with Red Cross personnel. Participants also received recommendations on healthy habits, balanced nutrition and the importance of physical activity to prevent chronic diseases.

Our ongoing commitment to the community

“With this health fair, we want to give the drivers an accessible alternative so that they can know their health status and receive recommendations to help them improve their quality of life,” said Katherine Lopez, Head of Safety & Resilience of APM Terminals Moín.

Víctor Konen, Head of Commercial of the company, added that this was the second edition of the health fair organized by the terminal. The first one was a resounding success, with enthusiastic participation of transporters interested in the free medical checkup.

“Our goal is to continue promoting initiatives that not only have a positive impact on truckers, but also promote a culture of prevention and wellness in their families and the port sector,” said Konen.
In the first two editions of this health campaign – in 2024 and now in 2025 – more than 740 truck drivers have attended. Cases of chronic diseases requiring medical attention were detected, and those individuals were referred to treatment.

The truckers who participated highlighted the importance of this type of initiative, as they often do not have enough time to undergo regular medical check-ups.

"For me, what they did today is too good; it really makes me want to cry. Sometimes one neglects oneself and the truth is that I don't go for check-ups at all. I appreciate the work you are doing, and I hope that many colleagues take advantage of it," said truck driver Elías Hidalgo Salazar.

APM Terminals Moín is committed to the welfare of the community and plans to continue this type of activity on a regular basis. And based on the impact of the fair, new ways will be sought to improve and expand the scope of services offered.
