Refund Application Process Related To 2022 Truck Strike

Dear Valued Customers,

We would like to inform you about the refund application process reference ASEZA letter ن ر/7516 dated June 4, 2023.

Please note the following important points regarding the refund application process:

• Eligibility: Storage refunds are applicable only to beneficial cargo owners (consignees) and will be paid out directly to consignees’ designated bank accounts.
• Applications through Clearance Agents: When a clearance agent is submitting the application on behalf of the consignee, the application must be accompanied by an authorization letter from the consignee, granting permission for the agent to apply on their behalf. The ACT ticketing system must be used by selecting ‘special request - trucks strike’. The authorization letter for this purpose must be attached (attached to this letter).
• Consignees applying directly can do so via the email address actconsignees@act.com.jo
• Required Documentation: The authorized clearing agent or consignee should provide the following documentation as part of the refund application:
  • Request of waiver: A written request from the consignee or authorized clearing agent authenticated by the bank, detailing the container numbers and a copy of the Bills of Lading (BOL) that fall within the scope of the refund criteria communicated by ASEZA.
  • Bank Letter: A letter stamped or authenticated by the consignee's bank, specifying the consignee's bank details, including the IBAN.
  • Customs Bayan: A copy of the Customs Bayan that establishes the rightful ownership of the cargo.
  • Any other document that may be necessary.

Please ensure that all refund applications are submitted through the designated process. Only requests received through this process and by June 30, 2023, at the latest, will be considered valid for refund application processing. Eligible refunds will be transferred to the valid IBAN after this deadline.
