GEODIS is a global transport and logistics company with a solid history in the region. With roots in Gothenburg as far back as 1867, GEODIS is now active in 168 countries, with several offices and warehouses located in Sweden. Every day, around 236 containers, managed by GEODIS, pass through APM Terminals in Gothenburg. Lisa Bengtsson, Ocean Freight Director at GEODIS, shares her experiences of the collaboration with APM Terminals.

What are the main reasons why you and your customers choose APM Terminals Gothenburg?

APM Terminals is the natural choice if you need to handle large volumes. With customers spread across Sweden, it's a benefit to us to be able to choose a port that offers a wide range of transport options which also collaborates with almost all the shipping companies on the market.

Thanks to the good opportunities for transporting goods by rail between APM Terminals in Gothenburg and virtually the whole country, we've also been able to change a lot of goods from road to rail. The rapid turnover of trains is also a decisive factor for us to be able to use the train to such a large extent, which justifies our choice to control large flows of goods via APM Terminals.

We also appreciate the clear environmental focus, such as the priority solution for electric trucks entering and leaving the port area. This is entirely in line with our own investments in electric transport between APM Terminals and our warehouses in Arendal.

What's your perception of the service at APM Terminals?

We believe APM Terminals has found a good way of working to meet our needs. We're experiencing significantly fewer problems and shorter waiting times at the gates, which is very important to our customers. I also want to highlight the customer service at APM Terminals. Some time ago I started using the Customer Care e-mail and found it to be a very good and fast service.
