Expansion meets increased demand for empty containers

As the export volumes of primarily Swedish forest products and basic industries continue to rise, the demand for vacant containers has surged. Responding adeptly to this growing need, APM Terminals is expanding its empty depot. Anticipated to reach completion in early November, the expansion is set to encompass an additional 4,000 square meters.

Henrik Krona, overseeing the empty container depot at APM Terminals, comments, "This extension will accommodate an extra 600 twenty-foot containers. With a more extensive storage capacity, exporters can benefit from a more efficient and sustainable supply chain, while the augmented area provides greater flexibility for storage solutions."

In connection with the expansion, APM Terminals in Gothenburg has also doubled the facilitation of PTIs (Pre-Trip Inspections), i.e., inspection and preparation of temperature-controlled containers.
