APM Terminals Barcelona works together with the port at the Efficiency Network Conference

The event emphasises promoting cooperation among companies in the logistics chain and transmitting new values of the Port's Quality Label

The Technical Efficiency Network Conference was held this year in the Port of Barcelona and was very well attended. It was based on three main pillars: the values of the Label, the new audit philosophy and the new Brand Center, which is a tool for communicating among certified organisations. The event brought together 140 participants from 55 organisations which together represent 60% of certified companies. APMT Terminals Barcelona is one of these companies, and its involvement in the Conference fosters cooperation to transmit new values of the Port Quality Label, along with other companies in the port community.

The focus of this edition was fostering collaboration among companies in the logistics chain. It has been proven that certified companies are taking on board the values underlying the Efficiency Network - Excellence, Integrity, Commitment, Collaboration, Transparency and Efficacy - and making them their own. The participants - technical professionals and managers of the organisations, along with the administrations that work with the Brand - worked on how to unify ethical action criteria, which must be common to all certified organisations, and how to give visibility and relevance to these values.

The Values of the Port of Barcelona Quality Label were defined following a process of reflection involving the certified companies and the people responsible for the Label. The Values aim to become a tool for improvement and for making it easier for customers and users of the Port of Barcelona to identify Efficiency Network organisations.

Certified companies aim to achieve continuous improvement, in other words, progress in port processes offering effective responses to customer needs; optimising and maximising performance and minimising supply chain costs; and visibility and recognition, transmitting a commitment to efficiency to the market.

APM Terminals currently operates a global network of 76 port terminals and 117 land services operations in 58 countries worldwide.
