APM Terminals Algeciras celebrates integration into Gemini Cooperation with AS Nina's call

Management of the company and the Port Authority award a plaque to the captain of the vessel

APM Terminals Algeciras has already started operating the Gemini Cooperation between Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd this Monday, 3 February, with the call of the vessel AS Nina. The container ship began operations at 20:00 and remained at the terminal until 03:00 today, 4 February, as planned, to depart for Jeddah after loading and unloading 734 containers.

'This new alliance represents a change in how we understand the global shipping business, reducing transit times for the customers. We are very proud to be part of this new project as a key hub and this is thanks to the professionalism, extensive experience and good work of our team, without whom we could not have been prepared. We are ready to face the challenges ahead and deliver a service that supports the Gemini aim of reliability of above 90 per cent,’ said Sophia Linares, Operations Execution Manager at APM Terminals Algeciras.

During the call of the AS Nina, Zsanett Balla, Chief Operating Officer of APM Terminals Algeciras, and the president of the Bahía de Algeciras Port Authority (APBA), Gerardo Landaluce, gave plaques to the vessel's captain, Emil Petrov Tonchev, in a event that was also attended by José Luis Hormaechea, general director of the APBA; Henrik Petersen, Hub & Terminal Experience Manager; Izabela Pinceli, Senior Hub Solutions Manager WMED; Anil Pereira, Head of Marine and Cargo Execution; and Alejandro Rego, Customer Services Manager of APM Terminals Algeciras.
