Yard update

We understand that the delivery and pick-up of containers is more difficult than usual. The entire supply chain is under high pressure, as is our yard. The arrival pattern of the deep-sea vessels has been disrupted. As a result, the sequence of vessels is often different from what was planned. This in combination with a change in the discharge pattern of import containers, which are removed much later than normal, has far reaching consequences. In some cases, this makes it difficult for the terminal to ensure reliable handling.

To keep the situation workable, we adjusted the yard opening time (start time of delivery) for export containers at the end of March this year. Due to this adjustment, the dwell time of export containers has decreased from 6.2 days to 5.3 days. We realize that this has a major effect for transporters when planning their transport to the terminal. We will continuously monitor the situation.

At the moment, the challenge is mainly the import flow, where we saw the container dwell time increase from 4.5 days to 8.2 days. Together with all parties, we are trying to get the container dwell time under control again.

Big thanks to all parties that contribute to keeping the container dwell time low!
