APM Terminals Pipavav facilitates green, cost-efficient, and reliable evacuation of LPG

APM Terminals Pipavav has achieved a new milestone of loading its 100th LPG rake within 10 months of operations through its LPG Rake handling facility established jointly with Aegis Logistics Ltd. The Port has provided a dedicated DFC compliant rail line for quick and safe evacuation of LPG, thereby reducing dependency on road movement. 

It is noteworthy that APM Terminals Pipavav is one of the few ports in India that has an LPG rail siding within the port that can accommodate the placement of a full rake. The full rake carries approximately 1200 MT of LPG cargo which is equivalent to 66 Gas Tankers on the road. With robust LPG demand envisaged, quick evacuation of LPG via rail provides a safe and environment-friendly alternative for companies, such as Oil Corporation Limited, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, importing LPG.
