APM Terminals Pipavav empowers local women with face-mask training
APM Terminals Pipavav empowers the women folks of surrounding villages by training them in mask making, with the help of the NGO - Gopi Mahila Mandal. This is to ensure that washable cloth mask is available to the community living in the villages around the port with population of more than 20,000. The initiative will help in cultivating the habit of wearing mask which is important for containing the pandemic. This will also help in generating employment to the villagers during the lock down and thereafter. This locally made masks will be distributed among the residents, truckers and labourers [appx 4000 nos] working in MNREGA [Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.] scheme.
Our small act to support the community during this challenging time.
