TERMPoint® Phase III Modification, effective Mon. 6/27/2022

Starting Mon. 6/27, APM Terminals Elizabeth will introduce the following modifications to TERMPoint – our truck appointment system. These updates will allow the terminal to further strategize and plan more effectively which will directly enhance the terminal user experience via the number of appointments and windows available in TERMPoint and the truck driver’s experience during their terminal visit.

Daily appointment windows will increase from four (4) to six (6) windows which will add flexibility. Daily appointment windows will move to two (2) hour windows from three (3) hours, except for the last window which will be one (1) hour. The tolerance window will be 30 min. on the front and back of each appointment window, except for the first and last appointment window which will remain current*. Please note merging of appointments will still need to be made within the appointment window NOT after as it is today. You are still able to use confirmed appointments 30 min before a confirmed window starts.

Example:  Truck drivers can access a confirmed 8AM-10AM appointment as early as 7:30AM and as late as 10:30AM.

New Appointment Windows and Tolerances:

• 06:00AM to 08:00AM access until 8:30AM (*no 30 min tolerance before 6AM)
• 08:00AM to 10:00AM access 07:30AM until 10:30AM
• 10:00AM to 12:00PM access 09:30AM until 12:30PM
• 12:00PM to 2:00PM access 11:30AM until 2:30PM
• 2:00PM to 4:00PM access 1:30PM until 4:30PM
• 4:00PM to 5:00PM access 3:30PM until 5:00PM (*no 30 min tolerance after 5PM)

Empty drop off appointments will be available consistently at 9AM daily for the next day regardless of receiving policy. This means if empty plans are changing the next business day, TERMPoint users will no longer have to wait until the gate closes at 5PM like they do currently. 

TERMPoint users will still be allowed to create generic Empty drop off appointments to secure slots in advance, however, the empty container number will be required one (1) hour before the appointment window beings (at the latest) or it will automatically be cancelled and put back into the available pool for other users to secure. Reference below for guidance.

• 06:00AM to 08:00AM enter container number by 5:00AM
• 08:00AM to 10:00AM enter container number by 7:00AM
• 10:00AM to 12:00PM enter container number by 9:00AM
• 12:00PM to 2:00PM enter container number by 11:00AM
• 2:00PM to 4:00PM enter container number by 1:00PM
• 4:00PM to 5:00PM enter container number by 3:00PM
