Missed Import Appt. Billing Update - 11/12
As communicated back in August and consistently since, APM Terminals Elizabeth began billing for missed import appts. as of October 1st when the latest NYTC Tariff was implemented. October invoices started to go out today, Fri. 11/12 to any TERMPoint users that had missed appts. in October.
Since APMT PEB allows a 1-hour grace period after each of the appt. windows, TERMPoint user may show an appt. as "missed" in their TERMpoint dashboard, but if a driver arrived at 0920 for a 0600-0900 appt. you will NOT be billed for this as of now, since the appt. was used within the grace period which is 0900-1000. The same applies to rescheduled or cancelled appts. For now, as long as you reschedule or cancel appts. before the end of the 1-hour grace period, you will not be billed.
Although canceling or rescheduling within the grace period may not help other users obtain the newly made available appt., by the rescheduling or canceling what will not be used will promote behavioral changes to TERMPoint usage; particularly with import appts. and their availability. Our goal with this implementation is to reduce the amount of wasted import appts. that we experience daily and to allow for even more cargo to flow out of the terminal as needed.
Since the introduction of TERMPoint over 1 year ago, we still see far too many import pickup appts. left to expire. As mentioned many times, the goal with the missed import appt. billing implementation is to ensure more accurate appt. system usage which allow terminal planning & strategy to improve the overall trucker experience even further, while at the same time making more appts. available to the community. This will especially help with last-minute or same day appts.
We encourage TERMPoint users to refer to our APPT System portion of our website for FAQ and dispute section if needed. Thank you for your continued support.
