Safety Update & Gate Closure Monday 17 January

Dear Customer,

APM Terminals Mobile, AL will not be open for gate operations on Monday January 17 in observance of Martin Luther King Day.  All gate holidays are posted on our website.

Drivers Should NOT Over-Take Container Handlers / Right of Way

Please remind drivers that container handling equipment should have the right of way through the facility. The container handlers when driving down roadways operate at a speed safe for their operation. We have had increased instances where drayage providers are passing these container handlers in the roadway.  Drayage drivers should not over-take a container handler that is driving down a roadway.  Drayage providers should not attempt to pass behind container handlers that are actively moving containers. This is an existing practice and we would like to take this time to remind all drayage drivers for continued safety in the terminal.

We also would like to remind everyone that a driver should not be on foot in the container yard.  Driver should only exit their trucks in designated areas such as:  In/Out gate, Driver inspection, Roadability, and driver restroom area.  All of these areas have barriers to help protect people's safety.  It has been a terminal rule for some time now that any driver on foot outside of the proper designated areas is subject to suspension.
