APM Terminals Mobile offers relief to Hurricane Laura victims
APM Terminals Mobile participates in a support initiative for Louisiana communities affected by recent Hurricane Laura.
In close partnership with the Alabama State Port Authority, Special Project Logistics team from A.P. Moller – Maersk and Team Rubicon, APM Terminals Mobile (Alabama) participated in a large-scale relief initiative in early September to collect over 36,000 pounds of bottled water, non-perishable food and other emergency supplies for distribution to those affected by Hurricane Laura in communities surrounding Lake Charles, Louisiana. The hurricane, active between August 20th and 29th, caused the deaths of at least 37 people in the U.S. and inflicted an estimated $10 billion in damages on southwestern Louisiana and southeastern Texas near the Gulf of Mexico.
The convoy of supplies was loaded in APM Terminals Mobile, Alabama and arrived in Lake Charles on Saturday morning, September 5th for offloading and local distribution by Team Rubicon.
