Tropical Storm Cristobal Update
APM Terminals Mobile, AL staff is watching Cristobal and the Port of Mobile has been placed in US Coast Guard status Whiskey as of today June 4. The APM Terminals staff along with all port operations will have status calls officials and close communication with weather advisors.
Current projections show the storm path heading to the US Gulf late Sunday and into Monday. This potentially could cause interruption to gate operations Monday June 8. Any change to gate hours will be communicated immediately through this channel, via text for those that opted in for that service, and via the banner on our web site (banner is located at the top of the web page currently displaying a message on COVID19). Please do not email or call asking for updates, as the mentioned communication methods will be utilized as soon as APM Terminals staff has new information.
Email updates will continue to be sent over the weekend as new information occurs.
For vessel arrival changes, those are updated as soon as new information is known on the normal vessel schedules found on APMTerminals.com, Termpoint, and TOPS. Again, these are updated as soon as staff has new information, so utilize those methods for updates. No reason to email or call for updates as the vessel schedule is updates as soon as we have new information. As info, all current indications is that the CMA CGM Rabelais will be worked Friday June 5.
Potential Next Steps: The next status for the US Coast Guard is status X-Ray. If that status is invoked the terminal will set a time to stop accepting containers and a timeline is put in place for the securing of container stacks in the yard. As the storm potential to the US Gulf is Sunday night or Monday, we currently do not see any adjustments to our Friday June 5 operations.
