APM Terminals Apapa reduces Truck Turn Times

APM Terminals Apapa has recently streamlined all gate functions, to enhance customer experience for truckers. Inspection, seal and security checks, and gate transactions - which were formerly carried out as separate functions and housed separately - have been merged under one roof. 

This means truckers who use the terminal will enjoy these three transactions simultaneously at the in- and out-gate respectively. To aid the efficiency of the process, the terminal introduced clear-cut demarcations to separate trucks on each lane, speed bumps, boom barriers and fitted convex mirrors to the roof of canopy. 

As a result of these improvements, the terminal recorded a decline of Turn Turnaround Time (TTT) from 117 minutes to 112 minutes, a reduction of five minute. Under the new arrangement, safety risks to the inspection clerks and the truckers have also been reduced significantly.
