VTMS Charges

Dear Valued Customers,

Please be advised that APM Terminals shall be taking over responsibilities for invoicing and collection of VTMS charges with retrospective effect from 17^th July 2020 (all vessels departing 0001 hours onwards).

This change follows instructions received vide letter bearing reference AUSP/96/2020 dated 21^st July 2020, from the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications on the removal of VTMS charges from the Ports and Maritime tariff through a notification in the official gazette and approval for its inclusion in the Bahrain Ports Tariff 2017.

Kindly note in this connection that the terms and conditions applicable for VTMS charges remain the same as in the Ports and Maritime Tariff, which include the following:

• VTMS charge of BHD 40.000 per vessel call applies to all vessels entering and leaving Bahrain territorial waters and covers both inward and outward voyages.
• Vessels owned by the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain are exempted.
• Foreign Navy vessels that are invited by the Government or on courtesy visits are exempted.
• Private yachts are exempted.
• Bahraini registered vessels which are working in Bahrain’s territorial waters for more than 6 months are exempted.

In view of the above, you are requested to kindly use the enclosed revised version of the Bahrain Ports Tariff 2017, which incorporates the aforesaid changes that have been duly approved by the Ports and Maritime Affairs, Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications.
