Puerto Deseado Depot

Located close to the port, APM Terminals Puerto Deseado Depot is a fast and effective partners for both on and off-dock repairs and maintenance. It's bonded storage facility offers all of the benefits of on-dock storage with the lowers costs and increased flexibility offered by an inland depot.

Depot Services

We are open between 07:00 and 19:00 for import and export movements, and with prior agreement up to 22:00 for the movement and re-positioning of shipping company empties.  Our team of 6 highly qualified people are 100% devoted to the dispatch and reception of equipment and operation of the terminal.

Bonded storage

Our depot is a bonded area enabled by ADUANA and SENASA, which provides cargo loading, storage services and provides energy for cold maintenance in the range of -18ºC to -35ºC in accordance with our customers containers requirements. We offer facilities for the preparation of the products that arrive from different establishments, production areas for their consolidation and onward transport, and storage for later distribution for export or internal markets.

The production area covers 5,000 square meters of paved yard for stacked container storage, (including offices) which is completely surrounded by an Olympic fence supported by reinforced concrete beams.

The maneuvering beach and deposit of containers takes place on a reinforced concrete yard for the movement of trucks. We operate 1 Kalmar container carriers for stacking in blocks of 2 height.

Storage

We have 10,300 square meters of yard for receiving empty containers, surrounded by an Olympic fence. It has a capacity for approximately 500 containers, providing them with energy for the PTI (check). We operate 1 Taylor (Mtys) container carriers for stacking in blocks of 3 height.

Reefer plugs

We offer 380 W electric power for 300 refrigerated containers of 20 and 40 feet. For this purpose, the area where the containers are stored is fitted with individual 380 W connections for 7.5KW cooling equipment.

Transport of Empty / Loaded Containers

Trucking services for the movement of empty containers from and to Deseado’s Port, during extended opening hours (from 07:00 to 01:00), with an option of night ratings. We also offer a trucking service for full containers and tow truck service for the movement of containers, bactericides, and anti-odour products.

Off-dock container maintenance and repairs

We are well known in the region for our high capacity and quality container repairs for all brands. We only use highly-qualified personnel and have built up solid experience in this field. We offer monitoring of full containers in the port as well as at our depot. Carrying a wide stock of reefers spare-parts allows us to operate effectively and quickly 24/7, 365 days a year.

Reefer pre-trip inspection (PTI)

Temperature is a key factor for refrigerated transport; there we carry our PTIs to the highest quality standards.  The inspection is not only limited to an exhaustive control of the refrigeration unit, but also the container’s structure and interior cleaning. With two stations we can carry out up to 80 PTIs per day, while performing any preventive or corrective maintenance.

Maintenance and repair of reefer and dry containers

We are one of the main containers repair centers in South America. Our highly-trained and motivated staff are our biggest differentiator. Our continuous training ensures that personnel understand the different international repair criteria and are able to use the latest technologies used in refrigeration units. We also perform repairs to load containers at the port.

Off-site maintenance & repairs at client’s facilities

We offer off-site service at our client’s premises, including assistance with the shipment of Super Freezer containers, Controlled Atmosphere and shipments with Cold Treatment.

Supply of reefer spare parts

We hold a wide stock of spare-parts for the main manufacturers of refrigeration units for containers, such as Carrier Transicold, Thermo King, Daikin and Star Cool. We supply spare-parts requested for repairs and maintenance, as well as for containers on board of vessels.

Monitoring, repairs and maintenance in the port

Loaded reefer container monitoring

Our highly-trained personnel are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to ensure that loaded containers operate within the correct parameters (temperature, humidity control, ventilation, etc.) before and after it is shipped on board the vessel.

Corrective maintenance for loaded reefer containers

If a failure occurs, we work with the corrective maintenance service for loaded containers and provide prior notification to the client or terminal. Our technical personnel are on call 24/7.

Downloading information stored in the controller

We realize about the importance of carefully handling the information recorded and stored in the controller of a refrigerated unit, particularly for cases involving a claim against the shipping company. We offer Data Download for any kind of reefer unit and consider this high priority. We only work with the latest generation of equipment for this purpose.

Container Sales

We offer second-hand nationalized marine containers for the sale and leasing. We work with a permanent stock of both dry cargo and refrigerated (Reefers) in containers of 20 and 40 feet lengths.

Dry containers

These provide excellent storage for any kind of material, since they are designed to protect goods from the extreme conditions experienced during trans-ocean travel. Unlike a shed or garage, containers are completely airtight, which makes them impermeable to humidity and insect infestation. Containers can be tailored to client’s requirements.

Reefer containers

Reefers are basically dry containers isolated with polyurethane, with an integrated refrigeration unit. They offer an excellent solution for storing of any kind of merchandise requiring cold conservation. They are designed to work in both perishable mode (refrigerated) and freezer mode, maintaining temperatures between +30°C to -25°C.
