Methanol-fuel powered Laura Maersk makes first call in Rotterdam

The first-of-its-kind green methanol-enabled container vessel arrived at APM Terminals Maasvlakte II in Rotterdam! This special event marks the beginning of our journey as A.P. Møller Maersk to become completely carbon neutral by 2040.

The arrival of the container vessel the Laura Maersk was celebrated together with Maersk, its customers, and the Port of Rotterdam during a special event at the terminal. Guests were welcomed to a unique location with a beautiful view of the deep-sea quay. Guests were also given an exclusive tour of the green methanol vessel. This occasion is not only a celebration of innovation and sustainability, but also a concrete demonstration of our vision: by integrating the world in a sustainable manner we improve life for all.
