The new project significantly improves lighting in Poti Port

APM Terminals Poti has successfully completed a major project to improve lighting in the port.

Within the USD 2 million investment, 22 unit-high masts and 61 light poles have been installed across the port and Container Yard, enhancing safety and visibility for nighttime port operations.

The project was carried out during 2024, improving illumination to international standards by replacing old light masts and upgrading lighting from metal halide lamps to energy-efficient LED lamps.

The modern design avoids the need for repairs and maintenance to be conducted at height, greatly improving safety.

As part of APM Terminals’ goal to reduce net carbon emissions to zero by 2040, the project will reduce the annual electricity consumption for port lighting by approximately 30%.
