Poti Hosts Regional Debate Tournament

For the first time this year, Poti hosted a debate tournament. The event, organized by the Georgian Institute of Debate and Education on May 29, attracted approximately 100 students from debate clubs in schools across Western Georgia. The tournament was supported by APM Terminal Poti and Tegeta Green Planet.

The primary theme of the 2024 tournament was environmental protection and action against climate change. Throughout the event, young people emphasized the public's environmental responsibilities, engaged in discussions about the challenges related to this issue using debate techniques, and shared their knowledge and experiences.

In parallel with the tournament, a study tour was conducted at the Poti Seaport to familiarize participants with environmental policies in the private sector. The students met with company representatives and observed the waste recycling and operational processes on-site.
