Truck Driver Notification
Dear Trucking Community,
We appreciate your commitment to safety by ALWAYS staying in your truck unless you are in designated safe areas like the defined inbound & outbound unpinning/pinning stations & the outbound empty inspection garage.
Enhancing the truck driver experience is important to APM Terminals. Some key enhancements are processes that were developed to allow truck drivers to stay in their cabs at all times, even during import container delivery.
Starting Mon. Aug. 14th equipment operators will not service any over-the-road truck if the truck driver is observed out of his or her cab. Safety warnings and/or citations will continue as usual.
Starting Tue. Sept. 5th, any truck driver observed being outside of his or her cab in any area of the terminal that is not one of the aforementioned safe-designated areas will be voided out and subject to the APM Terminals violation/suspension process as per the Mandatory Truck Driver Safety Induction which can be found here: https://www.apmterminals.com/en/port-elizabeth/practical-information/driver-information
The focus of this initiative is to ensure truck driver safety. We continue to work hard to enhance the truck driver experience and thank you for your continuous support.
Thank you,
APM Terminals Elizabeth Management
