Late Gate-In for Export Containers

Avoid penalties and loss of order due to shut out of containers on planned vessel. Pipavav port offers late gate in of containers i.e. containers which are arriving after vessel cut off announced by shipping line.

Benefits:

  • Supports the Gate-In of container ever cut off.
  • Avoid rolling over of containers to next vessel.
  • Strong support from Port to exporter to meet export timelines and avoid penalties or loss of orders.

Port team will coordinate with shipping lines for loading the container on planned vessel, subject to operational, customs and liner feasibility. It offers tremendous value to exporter who need to meet the timeline.

Request Process

  • Exporter /CHA/Forwarder needs to receive approval from shipping line for accepting the container in planned vessel under ASR/VIA.
  • Shipping line shall pre-inform terminal team via an Additional Service Request (ASR) through our Customer care desk.
  • Once the ASR is received from the shipping line, terminal will further process to gate-in the containers and plan loading on agreed vessel.

Other Restrictions:

  • Number of containers that may be gated-in after cut off shall remain within operational and regulatory limitations.
  • Pipavav port would support in best possible manner to connect the containers on planned vessel but would not take any responsibility of shut out due to factors outside direct control of port team.
