APM Terminals Pipavav Signs MOUs contributing to economy, community, and environment at Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024

APM Terminals Pipavav [GPPL], alongside APM Terminals’ global CEO Mr. Keith Svendsen, Regional MD Jonathan Goldner, and Public Affairs Head Mr. Rene Pill Pedersen, actively engaged in Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024. This pivotal event saw the GPPL leadership meeting with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, and other global and regional dignitaries. The discussions centered around reinforcing GPPL's commitment to India and Gujarat, aligning with the ambitious maritime vision outlined by PM Modi.

In sync with the government's vision Mr. Girish Aggarwal – Managing Director of GPPL, signed strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) to pioneer a green hydrogen ecosystem, modern port infrastructure and upskilling the youth for maritime industry.

This transformative move underlines GPPL's dedication to the community, environmental stewardship, and regional progress. GPPL and GMB [Gujarat Maritime Board] signed an MoU to facilitate the necessary permissions for the construction of a liquid berth, container berth and yard, container handling equipment, and marine infrastructure at Pipavav Port, estimated at a cost of INR 3,320 crore, thereby creating jobs and economic growth through infrastructure development.

GPPL signed MoUs with NTPC [National Thermal Power Corporation], India’s largest power utility and Welspun Energy Group, an Indian multinational conglomerate, for developing Green Hydrogen production and distribution facilities on land provided by the port, for both export and domestic usage through various models.

GPPL will also facilitate Maersk training to establish a Centre of Excellence for industry leading training and development in close collaboration with Gujarat Maritime University.
