August top month for Port of Itajai

Itaiai, Brazil - The port of Itajai is continuing to grow with August 2017 registering the best month of volumes in 2017.  According to the recently released port statistics, 86 port calls were recorded, including 20 port calls at APM Terminals Itajai, totaling 1,196,888 tons.  Containerized cargoes in the month of August were 109,030 TEUs with APM Terminals Itajai showing an 8% increase to 23,053 TEUs. 

In the first eight months of this year, there was a 5% growth in the port complex with APM Terminals Itajai, experiencing a 10% increase YTD. The port complex moved 8,161,178 tons, of which 1,414,513 were APM Terminals Itajai cargoes. Containerized cargoes were 735,321 TEU YTD, of which 135,023 TEU were APM Terminals Itajai.
