2017 MAGNUM Class Graduation ceremony
The Hague, Netherlands - Sixteen APM Terminals managers representing 13 countries graduated in the MAGNUM accelerated leadership development program Class of 2017 on June 16th in The Hague, in a day of ceremonies and celebration officiated by APM Terminals CEO Morton Engelstoft and Igor van den Essen, APM Terminals Vice President of Human Resources and Labor Relations along with the APM Terminals senior management team.
The 18-month program, which was started in the year 2000, has graduated over 180 participants who are selected through a highly competitive process encompassing applicants from throughout the APM Terminals portfolio. The curriculum of this most recent class was comprised of real time business projects, virtual learning sessions and four in person modules with postings in Denmark, Vietnam, Costa Rica and The Netherlands. The MAGNUM project teams found a potential annual savings of USD 4 million through avoidable inventory control costs, developed a new Customer Relation Management system to be implemented across the APM Terminals global terminal network, increased the efficiency of crane spreader swaps, and improved invoice fraud detection.
“These talented managers are among the rising stars of the industry, and we shall be looking to them to help guide our company through the next decade and beyond in our fast-changing industry and business environment” stated Mr. Engelstoft, adding “and we are fortunate to have their leadership and talent on our team.”
