GTI celebrates Global Safety Day 2023

At GTI, safety is at our core, and it is a commitment to each other and to our families. At GTI, Global Safety Day is an important occasion, and we celebrate it with much fanfare. This year the theme for global safety day across APM Terminals is “Speak Up”.

We organized various fun filled and interesting activities like safety quiz, poster drawing competition for colleagues and their families, fun games, leaders’ safety walk at the yard – all keeping in mind to sensitize our colleagues with clear message "We make it Safe to Speak Up."

The leadership team has been interacting with the front-line colleagues to explain the importance of speaking up without hesitation or fear as we are all responsible for safety.

This year, the Global safety day celebration at GTI is more special as our key customer joined us in celebrating this event. The team GTI is grateful to have Mr. Jeremy Nixon- the global CEO of Ocean Network Express [ONE], along with Mr. Colin de Souza - South Asia regional head, Mr. Masahiro Sakikubo, India MD and other ONE colleagues who graced our celebration with their presence. 

The celebration commenced with taking a safety pledge and concluded with felicitation of the “Safety Heroes” by acknowledging their outstanding work to keep the terminal safe. During the event, Mr. Nixon recognized the focus on safety at APM Terminals and GTI, and lauded the efforts made by the leadership team in keeping the terminal and the vessels safe.
