New Head of Operations at APM Terminals Mumbai (GTI)

A very warm welcome to Ashwin Arvind who joins APM Terminals Mumbai (also known as GTI) as Head of Operations effective 2nd May 2023.

Ashwin is an Indian naval veteran with over 28 years of experience in the field of Operations, Port Administration, Logistics, Maritime Security and Training. He took early retirement from the services two months back having held the rank of Commodore and leading a team of 400 officers and other navy ranks. Prior to this, he was based at Karwar Naval Base as Commanding Officer and also spent a large part of his tenure in Naval Operations and leading the War Room.

Ashwin has won numerous awards for his achievements - the latest being the President of India’s Nao Sena Medal for his devotion to duty and exceptional service in 2019. 

Ashwin is a Science graduate from the National Defense Academy and holds an MPhil in International Relations. He is a national and international level yachtsman, a national level swimmer, and loves sports and new challenges.
