Greetings from APM Terminals Mumbai!
This is with reference to Customs Public Notice PN 14/2020 released on 28th January 2020 by the Office of the Commissioner of Customs (NS- II), extending the option of payment of “Terminal Handling Charges” (THC) by exporters having AEO status directly to the terminal instead of Shipping Lines.
You are hereby advised to communicate/distribute to your members on their preferred option of THC billing by sharing back a scanned copy of the attached letter on their letterhead signed by an authorised signatory of their organisation latest by 31st March 2020. The option of invoicing THC directly to the exporters is intended to be effected from 30th April 2020 at the terminal and all the exporters preferring the option shall start receiving the invoices towards THC, amongst other charges, as applicable. The exporter is required to state their common customer code as may be issued by Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) in the consent letter, in case if the exporter does not have the said code, it needs to avail the same from JNPT.
