A toy for a smile brings happiness and hope to more than 1,000 children in the Caribbean

- APM Terminals Moín has been developing this initiative for five years.
- Gifts reached communities in Talamanca, central canton of Limón and Siquirres.

More than 1,000 children in Talamanca, Central Limón and Siquirres received a special gift this season thanks to the fifth edition of the campaign A toy for a smile, a solidarity initiative that turns the magic of Christmas into a child's smile.

This campaign is an initiative of APM Terminals Moín, since five years ago, in which fundraising activities are carried out in conjunction with APM Terminals Moín collaborators.

This activity is a gesture of social responsibility under the strategy El Caribe Puede - “The Caribbean Can”. Since the company's arrival in Costa Rica, it consolidated itself as a bridge of hope, offering recreational and educational gifts, carefully selected to promote values such as creativity and healthy fun.

“We are giving joy to girls and boys. We seek to give them smiles through gifts accompanied by grapes, apples and bags of candy for them to enjoy this Christmas,” said Krizia Cantón, Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator of APM Terminals Moín.

The little ones not only received these gifts, but also enjoyed a day full of happiness, healthy snacks, traditional games and activities organized by the Soy APM Volunteering group, made up of company employees, who joined in to provide an unforgettable experience.

“We are very excited to give these gifts to the children of these communities. At APM Terminals Moín we believe in future generations and we are very happy to share with them this little moment to wish them a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”, added Katherine López Campos, Head of Safety and Resilience of APM Terminals Moín.

The delivery of the gifts was carried out in conjunction with teachers, integral development associations and community volunteers.

Throughout these five years, A toy for a smile has shown that when hearts and wills are united, the positive impact on the lives of children can be transformative.

With this action, APM Terminals Moín reaffirms its purpose of strengthening ties with the communities of Limón and building a more hopeful future for the children of the Costa Rican Caribbean.
