Adjustments to Updated Contract Terms 2024

We would like to bring your attention to some essential updates that have been made to the 2024 storage rules communicated in November 2023.

With the unexpected and unfortunate circumstances in the Red Sea area and after listening to our customers feedback, APM Terminals Gothenburg has decided to update the free storage days related to export containers stored at the terminal to 6 calendar days free storage + free loading day.

In November, APM Terminals Gothenburg communicated about Updated Contract Terms for 2024 related to storage. The purpose was to simplify storage calculation, align with global standards, and to support the terminal during the dredging project named Skandiaporten that will be ongoing for the coming years.

Since then, the unfortunate situation in the Red Sea has occurred which impacts supply chains globally.

Despite situation constantly evolving and remains highly volatile, APM Terminals Gothenburg has decided to adjust the previously communicated free storage for export containers.

From 1st January 2024, all export containers are entitled 6 calendar days free storage + free loading day. The storage charges are applied after the 6th calendar day.

Export

Free storage: 6 calendar days + free loading day.
If an export container is stored longer than 6 calendar days, the storage charge will apply on calendar day 7 with price found in the public terminal tariff.



To visualize the earliest arrival day to the terminal to avoid storage charges you find below table.

Please note containers are allowed to enter earlier but storage charges will apply, prices are found in our terminal tariff available on apmterminals.com/gothenburg

Import

Storage of import containers remain as communicated end of 2023.
Free storage: 4 calendar days + free discharge day.

If an import container is stored at APM Terminals Gothenburg longer than 4 calendar days, the storage charge will apply on calendar day 5. Prices are found in our terminal tariff available on apmterminals.com/gothenburg

Please note containers are allowed to stay longer but will be charged according to the public terminal tariff.
