COVID-19 update: terminal is running at full capacity

General Status

At present, our entire operation is running at full capacity and we are doing everything we can to facilitate and deliver a reliable and flexible service as circumstances allow. During the past four weeks, in addition to normal service, we handled six extra calls with, among others, empty containers and seven calls outside regular time windows.

More empty containers and import goods from China are on the way. At present, the ocean-going vessels call every week as per usual schedule.

We observe no major disturbances in other flows either.

How we prepare

APM Terminals takes the developments around the outbreak of COVID-19 very seriously and follows the guidelines of the national health authorities. In addition, we have special contingency plans, with the aim of mitigating any possible impact to our operational capacity, in place. Our contingency plans include for instance measures to secure safety of our employees and cargo flow, as well as extra manning, back up of multiskills for critical positions and shift patterns. Most of office staff works remotely to reduce the risk of infection.

We are following the situation closely and are in constant dialogue with our customers, authorities and partners.
