Valencia hosts the fourth edition of APM Terminals Spanish Gateways Social Action Awards
The company supports projects of 7 local associations sponsored by employees.
APM Terminals Valencia has gathered today the winners of the fourth edition of the Social Action Awards in a ceremony presented this year by Ramiro Martín, Customer Care Officer, in which the people who have composed the jury, sponsors, the staff and representatives of the associations have shared an emotional morning at the terminal, in which their work and the value of the projects they lead have been recognised.
In total, APM Terminals has contributed 25,000 euros this year to a total of 7 projects of non-profit organisations in Spain. Initiatives sponsored by employees of the company, and chosen by a jury also composed of employees, who have made a decision according to a basis aligned with the values and priority causes of the Maersk Group.
During the ceremony, the representatives of the 7 winning associations received a symbolic cheque for the aid granted and a souvenir trophy. The award-winning groups were: Stella Maris, which needs help for its human assistance service for crews; ASPACE Gijón, for its active ageing programme for people affected by cerebral palsy and related pathologies; Sosciathlon, to help them pay for their annual solidarity sporting activity, which this year is in favour of research into epilepsy and melanoma; València Acull, to support language classes for migrants; Fundacion Utópika, to promote free emotional education for young people; Assotea, for individualised intervention programmes for people with ASD in Martorell; and Mensajeros de la Paz, to support its food programme for vulnerable families.
